About FUOYE

Federal university Oye Ekiti is a government-owned and operated Nigerian university. The university is in the ancient city of Oye-Ekiti and Ikole-Ekiti making it two campuses, The university was established in 2011 as Federal University Oye Ekiti by the federal government of Nigeria, led by President Goodluck Jonathan.

Brief History of FUOYE

The Federal University Oye Ekiti, popularly known as FUOYE is a school owned by the Federal Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and was established in the year 2011 under the regime of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE)

FUOYE has over 20,000 students. The first Vice-Chancellor of Fuoye is Professor Chinedu Ostadinma Nebo OON. FUOYE currently has 9 Faculties. The school had its first graduating set in 2015, with maiden convocation in April 2017. Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) was one of the ninth Federal Universities established by the Federal Government of Nigeria established under the administration of Nigerian former president, Mr.Goodluck Johnathan.

The ability to create an Internally Generated Revenue and getting support from traditional rulers and notable individuals under the administration of the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Prof. Abayomi Fasina.

2. Creation of Printing Press/Bakery:

Challenges facing FUOYE

The Federal University of Oyo Ekiti has made some strides in its accomplishment. Despite the great achievement, the school has also face grapple with some challenges. See some of the challenges facing FUOYE below.

1. Problem of Strike Actions:

Aside from the ubiquitous and factionalized Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), other unions, including the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), and the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) have had their fair share of union activisms, which have led to disruption of peace in the young citadel of learning.

2. The Lost of Students to Protest:

FUOYE was in the news over the death of students, after students’ protest over poor facilities, which turned awry.

3. No Adequate funding:
