NRC announces date to commence night trips

The Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) is set to initiate night operations before the second quarter of 2024, as revealed by the Managing Director, Fidet Okhiria, in a recent interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

This development is part of the NRC’s efforts to expand and enhance railway services in the country.

However, Okhiria pointed out that a significant challenge to the commencement of these night operations is the current state of insecurity. The safety of passengers and the security of railway infrastructure are primary concerns that the NRC needs to address before they can confidently launch night train services.JAMB Portal

The introduction of night train services would be a significant step in improving the efficiency and accessibility of rail transport in Nigeria, offering more flexibility and options for travelers. However, the emphasis on ensuring secure operations, especially during night hours, is crucial in a context where security concerns are prevalent.
