Requirements for NIN registration in Nigeria

The NIN enrolment is for every Nigerian and anyone who is legally living in Nigeria from the age of 16 and above.

Required documents

To enrol for your NIN, walk into the nearest NIMC enrolment centre with your Bank Verification Number (BVN) if you have one with any of the following valid and original supporting documents:WAEC Result

  • Certificate of Origin

Procedure for NIN adult enrolment

  • Walk into any NIMC enrolment centre closest to you with your BVN and a valid supporting document.JAMB Form
  • The details you provide to the agent at the centre you visited will be used to ascertain whether or not you have enrolled for NIN before using the NIN verification portal.
  • If you haven’t enrolled before, you’ll be issued an enrolment form to fill out. If you have done the pre-registration online, then you’ll be asked to bring the printed Barcode slip.
  • The form submitted will be vetted by the NIMC agent or official to confirm if the information filled on the form matches the information on your supporting document and also to check for mistakes or errors.
  • If you did the pre-registration online, then your printed Barcode slip will be scanned by the NIMC enrolment officer or agent to fill all the required fields or they’ll be inputted on the NIMC software by the NIMC enrolment agent or officer.NIN Registration in Nigeria

  • Once you are satisfied with the demographic information you provided, your Biometrics (i.e., your ten fingerprints and facial image) will be captured.
  • Once you are done with that, you have successfully completed the enrolment exercise and a transaction ID slip will be issued to you as evidence of the transaction.
  • However, you should note that the transaction slip doesn’t confer the right to NIN. You’ll be asked to return in 1-5 working days—depending on the availability of network, authentication and verification. After processing, the NIN slip will be given to you.
