Mercy Aigbe embraces Islam, shares new name

Mercy Aigbe, a popular Nollywood actress, has rechristened herself and turned to Islam.

Over the weekend, the actress and her husband, Kazeem Adeoti, hosted a Ramadan lecture for friends, family, and coworkers.Information Guide Nigeria

Following the event’s success, the actress was interviewed, and she verified her conversion to Islam.

The actress encouraged Nigerians to address her as Hajia Meenah Mercy Adeoti in the video.

“Insha Allah, My new name is Hajia Meenah Mercy Adeoti. Meenah with the H. I’m so so so excited. I feel fulfilled actually. This is actually my first Ramadan lecture and then Ramadan is one of the pillars of Islam. It’s like gathering people and letting them be aware of what Allah says, so that we can follow the rules that Allah has set. So I’m so happy that people that we called came here,” she said in parts of the video.

In the video, the actress requested that Nigerians call her as Hajia Meenah Mercy Adeoti.

The actress recently lamented having to rise up for Sahur during Ramadan.

The actress commented on a photo of herself sleeping, saying it has been difficult to rise up for prayer. Aigbe went on to say that while she is coping better with fasting, she is still struggling to rise up early in the morning because she is always sleepy.

She stated on Instagram that it has become difficult for her to remain awake during the day after waking up at midnight.JAMB Result
