JUST IN: Seyi Makinde Names New Deputy Governor, Lawmakers Endorse
Few minutes after impeaching Engr Rauf Olaniyan, as the deputy governor of Oyo State, the House of Assembly on Monday approved the nomination of the Chairman, Oyo State Housing Corporation, Barrister Adebayo Lawal, as new second man in charge of the state. BLUEPRINTS reports.

This followed the nomination of Barrister Lawal to the House by Governor Seyi Makinde as contained in a letter from the executive to the lawmakers which was presented on Monday plenary. Information Guide Nigeria
Reading the letter, Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin said it was in response to an earlier letter sent by the lawmaker to the governor dated July 18, 2022, informing him of the removal of Olaniyan from office. jamb results
Hon Kazeem Olayanju of Irepo/ Olorunsogo state constituency seconded the motion that the house should confirm Lawal as the new deputy governor of Oyo state.
The House later adjourned till Thursday, July 21, 2022.
