Governor Abiodun to swear in eight judges tomorrow

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has given his approval for the appointment of eight new judges to the state judiciary.Information Guide Nigeria

The nomination follows the National Judiciary Commission’s recommendation made at its 100th meeting on January 18 and is in compliance with Section 271 Sub-section (2) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 Constitution (as amended).

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Kunle Somorin, stated in a statement released yesterday in Abeokuta that the judges are appointed based on seniority, competency, and track record.NYSC portal

Somorin reports that the Chief Registrar of the High Court of Justice in Ogun State, Oluwafunke Omolara Odubanjo, Esq., the Chief Magistrate of the Ogun State Judiciary, Awofeso Ireti-Olu Babatunde, the Deputy Chief Registrar of the High Court of Justice in Ogun State, Adelaja Adeola Ireti, the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice.
