Mrs. Bisi Fayemi, the wife of the Ekiti State Governor, launched new sexual assault referral centers on Thursday.
Fayemi, who inaugurated the centers in Ikole-Ekiti and Ikere-Ekiti, emphasized the importance of community members exposing offenders to sexual assault laws, no matter how high up they are.Infomation Guide Nigeria
She underlined her zero tolerance for Gender–Based Violence, including sexual assault, and promised that anyone found guilty would face severe consequences.
Mrs. Fayemi added that the centers were formed to provide free services to survivors in the areas of medical help, legal, psychological, and law enforcement, among others.
In their remarks, the Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Oyebanji Filani, and his counterpart in the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Dr. Adebimpe Aderiye, thanked the governor’s wife.

They stated that the facilities will serve the North and South senatorial districts where they were located and that traumatized pupils would be suitably accommodated.
Mrs. Rita Ilevbare, the State Coordinator for Sexual Assault Referral Centres, also exhorted the personnel of the two centers to view their jobs as a call to national duty that demanded vigilance, empathy, maximum confidentiality, and, at times, personal financial cost.Jamb Result
She urged security authorities to support the center’s operations in order for them to be successful.
According to NAN, aside from the Moremi referral center at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital in Ado-Ekiti, the newly opened centers were housed within the specialist hospitals in the towns.
