Isah Bosso, the head coach of Nigeria’s U-20 male squad, has invited 35 players to resume camping in Abuja on Monday (tomorrow) as serious preparations for this year’s Africa U20 Cup of Nations commence.Information Guide Nigeria
Together with midfielder Daniel Daga and forward Promise Bernard, goalkeeper Nathaniel Nwosu, who is also the first choice for the Olympic Eagles, is at the top of the list. Bosso will begin training on Monday as he selects his final roster for the competition, which also serves as a qualifier for this year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup finals in Indonesia.
Bosso is expected to name his final squad on January 20.
In addition, the roster includes goalkeeper Chijioke Anigboso, defenders Benjamin Frederick, Nathaniel Tambe, and Hassan Shaibu, midfielders Ibrahim Yahaya and Muhammad Aminu, and strikers Adams Olalekan and Ayuba Francis.
Seven-time winners Group A of the 12-team competition will pit Nigeria against Egypt, Senegal, and Mozambique from the 19th of February to the 11th of March in Cairo, Alexandria, and Ismailia. Africa will be represented by all four semifinalists at this year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Group B comprises Uganda, the Central African Republic, South Sudan, and Congo, whereas Group C consists of The Gambia, Tunisia, Benin Republic, and Zambia.
