Operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS), have arrested one Idris Baba Hassan of Kusfa area in Suleja, Niger State, for allegedly impersonating the secretary of the National and State House of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal. THIS DAY reports.InformationGuideNigeria
He was charged before a Minna Chief Magistrate Court on a one-count charge of impersonation contrary to Section 132 of the Penal Code Law of the state.

According to the prosecutor who is also the Principal Staff Officer, Legal Service of the DSS, the accused, through the use of telephone, sent text messages to litigants demanding for gratification on behalf of members of the tribunal.JAMB Result
The prosecutor added that discreet investigation was carried out leading to his arrest between the last days of July and this month.
When the charge was read to him by Chief Magistrate Adamu Abubakar, the accused pleaded guilty to the charge and was immediately convicted and sentenced to two years imprisonment.NYSC Portal
Chief Magistrate Abubakar, however, gave him an option of N100,000 fine.
