He also debunked insinuation in the report that he was working to influence the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) postings in Bayelsa to the advantage of the APC, describing it as “the job of scavenging mercenaries”.
The former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources said it was curious that “the poorly-worded piece” did not have the identity of any of the newspaper’s journalists on it but was rather credited to ‘By Our Reporter’, which gave the report away as “a black market publication.”
The statement said, “The publication is false and is as sordid as the depressed minds of its sponsors. Sylva’s democratic records are there for all to see. He is no cynic, nor is he one to seek victory or political success through illegitimate means.
