African Foundries Limited (AFL) was established to support the accelerating growth in Nigeria by making the country self-reliant for steel rebars and eliminating its dependence on imported rebars. AFL is set up to reach a 0.5 million-ton per year capacity for high strength rebars and allied products.
We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:
1.) MIS Officer
Location: Ogun
Qualifications
- Minimum educational standard: B.Sc in Metallurgy
- Minimum Working Experience: 2 years related experience.
- Gener Female.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Attitude:
- Microsoft Excel and Word
- Navision
- Provide guidance and leadership to employee for daily activities and assign project or task.
- Participate in performance evaluation of employee performance (does not directly supervise)
- May have Project management responsibility.
- Some contact with other, including client, general public, visitors and African Foundries Limited personnel. Purpose of contact is to provide explanation or interpretation of information. may handle confidential information and some complex matters.
- Forward complain or non-routine inquiries or request to someone else to handle.
- Assesses and diffuses problem situation and require influencing others to reach consensus. Require tact and diplomacy to handle difficult customer situation. Require advance interpersonal and communication skill to establish and maintain internal and external customer relationships. Explore alternatives and creative solution to meeting the needs of the customer.
- Work involves some exposure to moderate risk of accident and require following safety precaution.

2.) Mechanical Engineer
Location: Ogun
Job Description
- Leading the maintenance team that comprises the fitter mechanic, assistant mechanic, welders, plumber to effect
- Routine breakdown maintenance of all overhead moving crane, 10-40 tons
- Preventive maintenance of overhead moving crane, induction furnace, pumps unit and hydraulic unit
- Routine/breakdown refurbishment of furnace unit, piping network and pump house unit including the cooling tower
- Effecting the routine check up on rail line and all crane unit furnace and pump unit
- Preventive/breakdown maintenance of cooling pump, mono pump and emergency pumps and the cooling tower
- Working with the shift manager in preparation and indenting of material needed for the plant as a whole
- Planning of monthly/annual preventive maintenance for all the plant machinery and equipment
- Weekly/monthly report compilation, crane report breakdown history, furnace report breakdown history and pumps
- Using scrap material to make new emergency spare parts for crane, pumps and hydraulic unit ei. Shaft, floating shaft
- Effecting machinery of indent spare parts to actual size ei. gear coupling, gears, shaft and bushing
- Ensuring pollution control unit work well
- Preparing efficient report if any
- Management of the maintenance workers and effecting discipline when its needed and enforce safety
- Adhere to good housekeeping habits
- Ensure health and Safety policies and procedures are followed
- Any other duty assigned by HOD.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess HND / Bachelor’s Degrees
- 3 – 5 years relevant work experience in Steel manufacturing industries.
- Proven track record of successfully maintaining and troubleshooting diverse mechanical equipment.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and consumables.
- Expertise in mechanical problem-solving and repair techniques.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Physical activity.
- Materials requirement planning (M.R.P)
- Daily production and breakdown report
- S.M.S materials consumption and delay reports
- M Track S.M.S daily report and monthly presentation
- Perform a variety duty including calculators bills, monthly report etc.
