African Export Import Bank (Afreximbank) was established in Abuja, Nigeria in October, 1993 by African Governments, African private and institutional investors as well as non-African financial institutions and private investors for the purpose of financing, promoting and expanding intra-African and extra-African trade.
The Bank, headquartered in Cairo, the capital of the Arab Republic of Egypt, commenced operations on 30 September, 1994, following the signature of a Headquarters Agreement with the host Government in August, 1994. It has branch offices in Harare, Abuja and Abidjan and will open an East Africa branch office shortly.
We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:
1.) Manager, Compliance
Location: Egypt
Requirements
Qualification and Skill:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or relevant Degree in related areas such as Banking, Risk Management, Legal or equivalent in addition to a post graduate degree in a related field.
- A professional qualification will be an advantage.
- Demonstrable experience of minimum 8 years of the Compliance functions in a financial institution, and familiar to trade finance products.
- Must demonstrate the ability and sound knowledge of KYC/AML requirements.
- Ability to review customer KYC/CDD documentation, assess inherent AML risks and produce a detailed report that will be used to decide by the Bank.
- Ability to interpret policy documents and provide inputs where required.
- Good knowledge of banking regulations in Nigeria, ECOWAS, and compliance leading practices.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of the Bank’s other working languages (French, Portuguese, and Arabic) are an added advantage.
- Excellent report writing skills
- Ability to interact with senior officials of banks, corporate entities, and governments.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
- Willing and able to relocate to Abjua, Nigeria

2.) Managing Director, Finance & Group Chief Financial Officer

Job Summary
- Reporting to the Executive Vice President for Finance & Banking Services, the MD Finance & Group Chief Financial Officer’s primary objective is to develop, implement, align, and control the Group’s financial strategies with the overall strategy of the Group, guided by the overarching principles to ensure cost-effective utilisation of the Group’s financial resources and maximisation of the Group’s return on investment.
- The MD Finance & GCFO’s responsibilities will necessarily encompass the planning, implementation, managing and running of all the finance activities of the Group, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting and negotiations with various stakeholders, as well as providing overall supervisory and day to day running of the finance function.
